During a day long conference sponsored by the Federal Trade Commission, consumer and parent advocacy groups have criticized the video games industry over the ease with which teens can purchase violent video games.
It was argued the violent titles such as
Grand Theft Auto, of which specific video footage was shown, should be rated as “AO” for adults only and not just “M” for mature.
One group though suggested that all media, including games, movies and music, should have a uniform rating system in which parent groups, educators and child development experts would play a greater role than the current government dominated system.
