UK trade news paper MCV is reporting that Nintendo of Europe is planning to cut the cost of the Game Boy Advance SP in the UK from £89.99 ($162) to £69.99 ($126), in the run-up to Christmas. The company has apparently decided not to drop the price of the GameCube to match recent cuts from Sony and Nintendo, but will instead introduce a new bundle featuring the console and
Mario Kart: Double Dash!! for £79.99 ($144).
Nintendo of Europe has refused to confirm the rumors outright, but head of UK PR Shelly Pearce did not deny the retailer and insider-sourced reports, indicating: "We have a number of initiatives planned this Christmas and we will be announcing them in the coming weeks."
