Colombia-based Immersion Games (CellFactor, Monster Madness
)is opening a new studio in Guadalajara, Mexico, the developer announced. It's part of the company's plan to consolidate in Latin America, supported by new titles in development and two new partnerships.
The developer says it's completing work on an unannounced first-person shooter title "that will be released soon."
The Guadalajara studio, says Immersion, will provide support to the Colombian studio as it increases its number of projects. Additionally, it'll benefit from government initiatives to support the interactive entertainment business in Mexico.
The company also recently allied with TV network RCN, which it says is the second-biggest economic group in Columbia, to support Immersion projects like exclusive titles for Latin America. The companies also anticipate synergies for TV, radio, films and video games.
At the same time, says Immersion, it is solidifying a relationship with Mexico's largest distributor.
