Publisher Ignition Entertainment (
Mercury Meltdown) has announced the opening of two new development studios in Tokyo and Florida which it says will be part of "the creation of new IP specifically for the next generation formats."
Ignition says the new studios "will further develop the company’s capabilities to create original and innovative intellectual properties for the electronic entertainment industry."
Apart from new IP, Ignition
recently announced that it has entered into a long-term partnership with Japanese publisher Marvelous Entertainment to publish the latter's classic arcade game remakes like
Bubble Bobble Double Shot, New Zealand Story Revolution, and
Rainbow Island Evolution in North America.
Said CEO and co-founder Vijay Chadha, “This is an important time for us. With the addition of these new studios we will increase our capacity for producing original product. The opening of both Ignition Florida and Tokyo is a stepping stone to building a stronger and more focused development group. These studios are an important addition to the company and will be a solid foundation on which future plans will be built.”
