The International Game Developers Association is preparing to select a group of promising university students to receive Game Developers Conference Student Scholarships. The recipients will be granted full access to all sessions, roundtables and keynotes at the 2006 GDC. [The GDC, like Gamasutra.com and Game Developer Magazine, is owned by the CMP Game Group.] Students will also be given an opportunity to take part in discussions and network with industry professionals.
"It has been the IGDA's tradition to award those student who best demonstrate their potential for growth and an ability to bring new ideas to the table," said IGDA executive director Jason Della Rocca. "Every year, we continue to meet students who are passionate about entering the field, ready to help drive things to the next level."

. The deadline to enter is Friday, Feb. 3, 2006, and recipients will be announced by mid-February. Applicants are required to be full-time university students (or in an equivalent educational program) and an IGDA Student Members in good standing. The conference is slated for March 20-24, 2006, in San Jose, California.
