IGDA Education SIG Announces GDC Workshop

The International Game Developers Association Game Education Special Interest Group is putting on a 2-day intensive workshop at the Game Developers Conference taking place March 5-9, 2007 in San Francisco.
The International Game Developers Association (IGDA) Game Education Special Interest Group (SIG), which focuses on developing a community of game educators, promoting game education, and providing resources to game educators, is putting on a workshop at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) taking place March 5-9, 2007 in San Francisco. This intense 2-day workshop, happening March 5-6, will focus on innovation and best practices in curriculum design and teaching methods for game development education. There will be lectures, exploration of model curricula, case blasts, interactive hands-on sessions as well as opportunities for networking and discussion throughout the workshop. Attendees will leave with useful examples and ideas on how to best develop and/or reinvigorate game development curricula in their institution. The goal of this workshop, aimed at Higher Education practices, is to address educational issues by sharing examples of best practices in teaching and curricula. The workshop has value for teachers, students and developers interested in how conversations between education and industry are important in developing how we can teach game design and development. For session details, visit the IGDA Education GDC Workshop website. To participate, register prior to January 31, 2007 to receive the biggest discount. IGDA Members receive an additional $50 discount.
