Criterion Software announced today the completion of its acquisition of game development middleware distributor Hammersmith Technologies. Hammersmith will be renamed Criterion Software Inc. and become a wholly owned subsidiary of London-based Criterion Software Ltd., which is itself a subsidiary of Canon. Criterion hopes the acquisition will strengthen its North American support and distribution prospects.
