IDSA Changes Name To ESA - Entertainment Software Association

The Interactive Digital Software Association (IDSA) announced that it has formally changed its name to the Entertainment Software Association (ESA).
The name change went into effect today, and the organization's web site was changed from www.idsa.com to www.theESA.com. The change aligns the trade group's name more closely with the name of the industry ratings organization, the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB). Implementing effective ratings and defending the industry from censorship had become major focal points for the IDSA, so presumably this name change will communicate the relationship between the association and the ratings board.
