Toronto, Canada-based Hip Interactive has announced that its Hip Games subsidiary has signed an agreement with Living Dead Productions Limited to produce a series of George A. Romero-licensed video games on current and upcoming game platforms.
Romero is particularly famous for creating movies such as Dawn of the Dead and Night of the Living Dead, as well as inspiring classic 'survival horror' titles such as Capcom's
Resident Evil, for which Romero directed one of the Japanese television commercials promoting the game.
Hip's agreement is for a new property in a forthcoming "series of video games that capture the entire universe of zombies, action and gore of George A. Romero", and Arindra Singh, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hip Interactive Corp, commented of the deal: "Horror fans have been searching for the ultimate horror experience in gaming and we intend to deliver it to them with the tremendous creative input of legendary director, George A. Romero, and Living Dead Productions."
