The non-profit gamers' advocate Entertainment Consumers Association has named Heather C. Ellertson, formerly its director of marketing, as vice president of marketing, with Seth Stebbins and Thomas Valentino also taken on as marketing assistant and chapter relations head, respectively. In the new role, Ellertson will oversee all national and international marketing initiatives for the ECA, spearhead the development of new partnerships and extend existing ones. The ECA has also announced that Aaron Ruby, co-writer of the game culture book Smart Bomb, has also joined the ECA to help launch a new yet-undetailed site in the fall. "I've had the pleasure of working with Hal Halpin for over 10 years," said Ellertson. "Throughout the last year, we've been focusing our efforts on launching and increasing awareness for the ECA and I'm thrilled with the progress we've made. In my new role as Vice President of Marketing, I look forward to taking the ECA to the next level by broadening our exposure and ideals even further."
