Following John Riccitiello's resignation to
return to Electronic Arts as CEO, VG Holding, operating company of BioWare/Pandemic (
Mass Effect), has announced the appointment of Greg Richardson as its new CEO.
Riccitiello previously acted as part-time CEO of VG Holding, as well as partner for Elevation Partners, the private equity firm that acted
to fuse BioWare and Pandemic into BioWare/Pandemic Studios in November of 2005.
Richardson has acted as a senior executive with BioWare/Pandemic since company's inception, most recently serving as vice president of commercial operations. A 12 year industry veteran, Richardson has also served as general manager of Electronic Arts' EA Partners division before joining Elevation Partners.
Said managing director and co-founder of Elevation Partners Roger McNamee, “The BioWare/Pandemic alliance broke new ground with two of the top independent game studios coming together to collaborate on creative ideas and cutting edge technologies while supporting distinctive cultures and strengths. A catalyst in the creation of this unique venture, Greg is the natural choice to work with the BioWare/Pandemic executives as they continue to create award-winning titles and expand their talent base.”
Pandemic's Josh Resnick added, “We have succeeded and will continue to succeed because we have put together an all-star creative, production and operations team. Greg will be a strong addition to the team in his new role as CEO of VG Holdings.”
