Gnomon School Launches Online Training

The Gnomon School of Visual Effects has launched an online division for courses focused on the development of the skills needed to do digital effects, animation, and game development taught by industry professionals. Registration begins Monday, December 4th and classes will be available Monday, January 8, 2007. All Gnomon Online instructors are professionals in the entertainment industries with a minimum of three years production experience, who teach within their area of expertise. The company's instructors include Bil Leeman - Effects Lead at EA Los Angeles (teaching Unreal Editor 3), and Bobby Milly - Senior Character Modeler/ Next-Generation specialist, Activision Corp (teaching Character Development for Next-Gen Consoles). Individuals who sign up for Gnomon Online courses will have access to 15 to 30 hours of pre-recorded video instruction, project assignments designed to hone the skills needed in production, and individual feedback on homework from a working production professional. Courses are offered on a quarterly basis; four terms per year. Each week of the term the appropriate three-hour lecture is made accessible. Industry professionals critique all uploaded homework.
