Gnomon Online, the internet-based division of Gnomon School of Visual Effects, began registration for their online courses this week.
Courses to be offered in the Winter Term include Introduction to 3D with Maya taught by Stephen McClure, 3D Texture Painting with Eric Miller, Animation and Visual Effects with Stephen McClure. Pixologic’s ZBrush and Figure Drawing will be taught by Dallas Good.
Individuals who sign up for Gnomon Online courses will have access to 15 to 30 hours of pre-recorded video instruction, project assignments designed to hone the skills needed in production and individual feedback on homework from a working production professional. Courses are offered on a quarterly basis; four terms per year. Each week of the term, the appropriate three-hour lecture is made accessible. Lectures are delivered at 960 x 540 resolution and may be viewed 24/7. Industry professionals critique all uploaded homework.
Students can chat with their instructor or fellow students through an integrated chat system. They may also post a gallery of their work and host individual blogs on the Gnomon Online website.
