Officials from German publisher bhv Software have announced the launch of a new games label in the UK, named XIDER. The new label, already used by the company in continental Europe, will specialize in role-playing, adventure, racing and sports titles for the PC and Nintendo DS.
The new label has been formed in partnership with UK distributor Pinnacle Software and will be headlined by graphic adventure sequel Ankh: Hearts of Osiris
– which has proven a considerable hit its native Germany.
Due on April 27th, Ankh: Hearts of Osiris
will not be the first game to be published on the new label in the UK, with the first two episodes from Telltale Game’s Bone
series of graphic adventures being released this month for £19.99 ($38) each. Other titles scheduled include the budget priced German Street Racing
(PC) in April, Luminator DS
in May, World of Chaos
in May, European Street Racing
in May, Ankh
(DS) in August and Basketball Manager 2008
(PC) in late August.
Helmut Schmitz, managing director of bhv Software commented, “We are very excited about the launch of XIDER and the prospect of bringing many new titles for PC and Nintendo DS under this label to gamers in the UK. We have been successfully publishing games across Europe under this label for several years and look forward to recreating this success in the UK. The launch of Ankh: Heart of Osiris
is a great new title to start with and we hope gamers will agree.”
