Genemation Ltd, developer of 3D face synthesis and character modeling tools, has announced the availability of a Limited Edition Bundle consisting of its GenHead and GenCrowd 3D packages for a special price throughout the month of February. GenCrowd 3D v2.0, designed for digital artists looking to easily and quickly generate large numbers of synthetic, realistic looking 3D heads, is configurable for a wide range of applications, including video games, mobile, post production, web authoring and other digital content applications. The heads are free of copyrights, can be generated by age, gender and ethnicity, and can be animated using GenCrowd’s morph targets or bone rig. In addition, the software allows for individually generated heads to be viewed 360º at different mesh resolutions in a dedicated window. GenHead v3.1 is a standalone software tool for digital content artists that enables the creation of 3D heads from photographs. Content created by GenHead v3.1 can be exported into industry-standard art/animation tools such as Maya 3dsMax or Softimage, or saved as VRML files. GenHead v3.1's new features include letting the user define output texture sizes, improved scaleable quad meshes, the ability to make geometry and textures symmetric, a preview feature for 3D heads with bump and specular maps, generating bump maps from diffuse maps, and a Japanese-language version. Said Genemation CEO John Bickley, “After working with a number of companies and artists over the last 18 months, and implementing their feedback, we believe Genemation’s tools deliver real benefits and value to development teams engaged in character modeling.” More information on both packages, trial versions, and pricing information specifics for the limited time bundle offer can be found on Genemation's website.
