Officials from British company Game Domain International (GDI) have announced a partnership with Austrian publisher Koch Media, to expand the use of the AWOMO (A World Of My Own) download technology further into Europe.
The AWOMO service was first announced in February, with the goal to “replicate the functionality of iTunes” and offer downloadable PC games on demand through a 3D community based interface.
GDI subsequently partnered with British based retailer GAME
in a deal that will see them provide download technology services in exchange for retail and marketing services for AWOMO.
The new deal with Koch will allow GDI to provide on demand download services for any number of retailers or organizations, fully branded by the client to suit their own needs.
“In Koch Media, we have found a partner with the right relationships with the right retail groups to drive the white label solution rapidly throughout Europe,” said trading director of GDI Patrick Lorkin in comments to UK trade paper MCV.
“They have the local expertise and resources needed to manage deployment in all major European markets. We look forward to maximising this opportunity together over the coming years”, he added.
