The organizers of the Game Developers Conference have announced that they have extended the Call For Submissions for the 2006 GDC to this Friday, August 5th, due to popular demand. According to the organizers: "GDC 2006 has received a strong response for its 2006 call for submissions, with all talks providing thorough coverage of next generation topics. Due to this robust participation interest, we've been asked to extend the deadline for submissions." The submissions, which can be submitted via the official GDC website include opportunities to present lectures, roundtables, longer tutorials and 'poster sessions' on a variety of topics, from production and business through programming, art, and audio. Each abstract will be rated by the Game Developers Conference advisory board before final decisions are made on precise topics and lectures later in the year. GDC 2006 itself is held from March 20th to March 24th, 2006 at the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose, California, and is presented by the CMP Game Group, organizers of the Game Developers Conference Europe and Serious Games Summit, and publishers of Game Developer Magazine and Gamasutra.com.
