Gamasutra's education-focused sister site Game Career Guide has published the latest conundrum in its regular Game Design Challenge series. This time, the Challenge is focusing on presenting the global credit crisis in a compelling and easy-to-understand way, inspired by a popular web video. Filmmaker Jonathan Jarvis recently created a popular video which explains the reasons behind the global credit crisis in a simple and comprehensible way, and GCG has taken this as inspiration for its latest Game Design Challenge. "Could you do the same thing with a game? That's your challenge: come up with a game that's fun and clever, and explains the global credit crisis in a way the player could understand. Any genre of game could be your target. Will you make a survival horror game starring an average American protagonist navigating through a field of zombie loans? Will you create a casual time management game that puts the player in the shoes of a lender? The result is up to you." The challenge runs from today through June 3, 2009.
