More than 92,000 visitors attended the Games Convention Asia event in Singapore over the weekend, according to organizers Leipziger Messe International. The second annual event boasted 118 exhibitors from 13 countries, across 7,500 square meters of exhibition space.
"GCA is the premier event for the games industry in the Asia-Pacific region and this year’s show presented some of the hottest titles for the next 12 months," said Wolfgang Marzin, president and CEO of the Leipziger Messe. "We’ve been extremely impressed with the turnout and look forward to continued success next year."
Also in attendance were more than 630 industry professionals at the parallel two-day Games Convention Asia Conference (GCAC). The series of talks and workshops were attended by visitors from over 20 nations, with over 70 different industry speakers.
"GCAC clearly serves the needs, not just of the Asian market, but also of the global market. Industry representatives from the US, Europe and naturally, the Asia-Pacific region participated in the conference, exchanged ideas and created new visions for the future gaming market," said Marzin.
The next GC Asia event has already been scheduled to take place in Singapore from September 17th to 20th, 2009. GCAC 2009 will be extended to a three-day event running from the 17th to 19th.
