GameSpy today announced the second generation of its GameSpy Voice SDK, which is available as part of GameSpy's Premium Suite of online enabling tools. The new SDK lets developers to add voice communication functionality to their PC or Sony PlayStation 2 game without having to learn the details of voice capture, playback or encoding.
GameSpy's new Voice SDK, written in standard ANSI C, uses GameSpy architecture and is more efficient than before in its use of memory, bandwidth and processor time. Developers can choose any of five different audio codecs or use their own.
GameSpy's Voice SDK is available immediately and is included in the company's Premium Suite at no additional cost to GameSpy's licensed developers.
