The organizers of the Games 4 Change Conference in New York have announced initial details of its conference, which will take place on October 21 and 22 at the City University of New York. The G4C organizers recently commented that Games for Change "aims to bring together non-profits and their partners in government, industry, and the arts to explore the use of digital games for social change", representing a subset of the increasingly notable 'serious games' movement. According to the official Games 4 Change website, the conference contains opening remarks by Dave Rejeski, the Director of the Foresight and Governance Project at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, an industry overview from Ian Bogost, CEO of Persuasive Games, as well as a funders panel, with representatives from ESA, Microsoft, ITAC and the MacArthur Foundation discussing their approach, plus social-based game activity throughout the conference, created by Eric Zimmerman of GameLab.
