Xbox owner Sean Burke has filed a lawsuit against Microsoft Corporation over a faulty Xbox, attempting to start a larger action against the company over the reliability of the hardware. The suit was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday and seeks to represent any consumer who has ever purchased an Xbox in the US. Burke claimed that the console stopped reading all discs after only a year of use, arguing that "The defective Xboxes stop working after minimal usage, after unreasonably, unconscionably, unusually and unexpectedly short amounts of time." The suit seeks damages, restitution, and legal fees. Microsoft had no immediate comment on the lawsuit. Ironically, although there have been some complaints about the reliability of the Xbox console, there have been far more complaints about the infamous 'Disc Read Error' problem of the PlayStation 2. However, it seems exceedingly unlikely that Burke will win his suit, and thereby encouraging any similarly disgruntled PlayStation owners to step forward.
