Codeworks GameHorizon, a UK video games business network, announced that its GameHorizon Conference will return next year on June 23 - 24 at the The Sage Gateshead in Gateshead, England. The company expects an "exclusive audience" of around 300 people to attend the conference.
In its second year, the two-day conference invites publishers, developers, format holders, middleware and hardware companies, and professional service firms from the global interactive entertainment industry to discuss the future of the games business and new technologies.
Realtime Worlds (Crackdown, Lemmings
) creative director and CEO David Jones is slated to deliver a keynote speech for the event. Roger Walkden, chief executive of digital distribution technology company Game Domain International, will also speak at the event, as will Epic Games' vice president and co-founder Mark Rein.
"The first GameHorizon Conference attracted hundreds of games execs from around Europe, so it was really an easy decision to run the event once again," says Codeworks GameHorizon's head of Sector Development Carri Cunliffe. "Whilst there are several conferences and expos that look in-depth at the details of games art and programming, we felt there was a gap in the market for an event which focused on higher level business issues, new technologies and future opportunities."
Cunliffe continues, "This is a conference designed to help games firms to discover and think about strategies to improve their business."
