This week's top rental charts from U.S. game rental company GameFly, representing the most requested games for the week ending August 11, highlights the popularity surrounding video game titles that have been already released, as well as those that are yet to debut. The top three titles on the all-platform chart and Xbox 360 chart mirrored each other for the week, with Capcom's zombie-themed action title Dead Rising dominating both charts. Microsoft Game Studios, Q Entertainment, and Phantagram's action RPG N3: Ninety-Nine Nights took the second spot on both charts, followed by THQ's upcoming GTA-inspired Saint's Row. Electronic Arts' upcoming Madden NFL 07 remained the most requested Xbox title for the week, followed by Vivendi's physics-powered racing sequel, FlatOut 2. DreamCatcher Interactive's console port of Painkiller, subtitled Hell Wars, continued to hold onto the third spot on list of requests for titles for the original Xbox. As was the case last week, Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus was the most requested PlayStation 2 title, followed by Madden NFL 07. FlatOut 2 was the third most requested PlayStation 2 release on the chart for the second week in a row. Super Monkey Ball Adventure again claimed the top spot for GameCube requests for the week, while LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy used its Jedi mind trick, and landed in the second spot, knocking THQ's Barnyard into third. It was an all-Pokemon party on the Game Boy Advance for the week, with titles from the franchise taking each of the top three spots for the platform. Pokemon Emerald was once again the most requested title for the handheld, followed by Pokemon Fire Red, which shipped in September 2004, and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team, which is expected to be released on Spetember 18, 2006. Regarding the Nintendo DS, Star Fox: Command again dominated the chart, followed by Atlus' recently shipped RPG Deep Labyrinth and Nintendo's wildly popular New Super Mario Bros. Namco Bandai's Tekken: Dark Resurrection was again the most requested title for the PSP for the week. This was followed by EA's Madden NFL 07, while Square Enix's role-playing epic, Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth took the third spot on the chart. Looking towards the fourth quarter console launches of the Wii and PlayStation 3, Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed ranked as the most requested PS3 title for the week, followed by Sony and Insomniac's Resistance: Fall of Man and Activision's Call of Duty 3. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, a title that Nintendo expects to launch alongside the new console in both GameCube and Wii formats, topped Wii requests for the week. Super Smash Bros. Brawl was the second most requested title for the upcoming platform, followed by the hotly anticipated Super Mario Galaxy.
