This week's GameFly video game rental charts for North America, specifically relating to games rented via the games-by-mail service for the week ending May 30th, show popularity over multiple game formats.
Star Wars mania continues, as tie-in games to the new movie show up in the top three results for four of the seven charts. In the general chart, the
Revenge of the Sith game is still #1, with
God of War holding at #2, and
Area 51 returning to the #3 position.
Star Wars Episode III is also remaining strong at #1 on the Xbox chart.
Area 51 creeps up from behind to abduct the #2 slot, and
Doom 3 also sees a resurgence on its way back to #3. On the PS2, though,
God of War overthrows
Star Wars to reclaim #1, with the
Episode III game slipping to second place.
Area 51 stays in at third from last week.
As ever, the GameCube chart is populated mostly by platform-specific games, rather than the multiplatform releases seen elsewhere.
Resident Evil 4 continues its long streak at #1, followed by
Star Fox Assault at #2, and
Donkey Konga 2 keeping time at #3.
On the Game Boy Advance, the release of
Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones has (however temporarily) dethroned
Pokémon Emerald from its #1 perch. The critter-collecting game bides its time at #2, waiting to return, while
Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap holds steady at #3.
Star Wars Episode III continues to rule the galaxy at #1 on the DS charts, with
Pac-Pix in #2 and
Need for Speed Underground 2 in third place, switching positions from last week.
The mercurial (thought not in the Archer MacLean sense) PSP charts seem to be stabilizing a bit;
MVP Baseball is safe at home for another week at #1, and
Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee has come back up to #2.
Metal Gear Ac!d reinfiltrates the top three at #3, finishing out the week.
