This week's GameFly video game rental charts for North America, specifically relating to games rented via the games-by-mail service for the week ending June 20th, show popularity over multiple game formats.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
is enjoying a second wind of popularity, now that the Xbox version is out, and tops the overall chart for the second week in a row. Trailing behind it are old favorites God of War
in second, and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
GTA San Andreas
has got the Xbox turf all locked down as well, successfully fending off Star Wars Episode III
and Medal of Honor: European Assault
in the turf wars for control of the charts. On the PS2 chart, God of War
continues its strikingly long streak at the upper echelons of the chart, placing #1 again, while Star Wars Episode III
and MoH European Assault
take up the same positions on PS2 as they did on the Xbox.
Resident Evil 4
is #1 on the GameCube charts, as it likely will be until the next major GC release. In second place, the movie tie-in game Madagascar
belatedly rises up to cast Digimon World 4
further down the charts, as Medal of Honor: European Assault
completes its trifecta of third-place showings on all three consoles.
As predicted, Pokémon Emerald
has at last reclaimed the number-one position on the Game Boy Advance charts, beating out Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones
at #2 and newcomer Yoshi: Topsy-Turvy
at #3. Kirby: Canvas Curse
debuts at #1 on the Nintendo DS chart, following strong critical praise and word-of-mouth, while GoldenEye: Rogue Agent
slips in behind at #2 and Yoshi Touch & Go
stays put at #3.
Racing continues to be hot on the PSP, with Need for Speed Underground Rivals
blowing by the rest of the pack to #1. Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee
makes par at #2, and MVP Baseball
is again safe at home in the #3 slot.
