This week's GameFly video game rental charts for North America, specifically relating to games rented via the games-by-mail service for the week ending April 18th, show popularity over multiple game formats.
The cross-platform chart shows
Jade Empire shimmying down the charts as quickly as it arrived, going from a number-one debut down to number nine - possibly due to stock shortages of the popular, lengthy RPG? In its absence, the Xbox port of
Doom 3 returned to the top position, followed by
Unreal Championship 2: The Liandri Conflict on Xbox and
Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition.
Once again, the top three slots on the Xbox-specific chart mirrored the general chart:
Doom 3 at #1,
Unreal Championship 2 at #2, and
Midnight Club 3 at #3.
God of War once again conquers the PS2-specific chart, with
Midnight Club 3 and the finally released
Dead to Rights II: Hell to Pay in second and third.
Not much has changed on Nintendo's three platforms since last week:
Resident Evil 4 still leads
Star Fox Assault and
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door on GameCube, while
Mario Party Advance,
Legend of Zelda: the Minish Cap, and
Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories kept up the top three positions on Game Boy Advance. New to the DS charts behind
Wario Ware Touched! is tricksy puzzle game
Polarium at number 2, followed by
Yoshi Touch & Go.
Finally, over on the PSP,
Metal Gear Acid snuck up from behind to claim the top spot, and SCEA's first-party baseball game
MLB made a surprise showing at #2. Namco's difficult-to-source
Ridge Racers rounds out the pack at #3.
