This week's top rental charts from U.S. game rental company GameFly, representing the most requested games for the week ending January 5, highlight the popularity surrounding video game titles that have been already released, as well as those that are yet to debut. As has been the case for a long while now, Xbox 360 titles ranked as the most requested games across all console platforms for the week. However, on this latest chart it was Capcom's soon to be released Xbox 360 exclusive arctic action epic Lost Planet that proved to be the most requested title across all platforms, pushing Ubisoft's Rainbow Six Vegas and Microsoft's Crackdown into the second and third positions respectively. Activision's Call of Duty 3 still proved to be a popular choice among PlayStation 3 owners, with the World War II first person shooter taking top honors on the console specific chart. EA's Fight Night Round 3 was the second most requested PS3 title for the week, followed by Sony's own Resistance: Fall of Man. Wii requests were topped by Nintendo's upcoming Wario Ware: Smooth Moves, while third party releases Elebits and Rayman Raving Rabbids rounded out the chart's top three. Call of Duty 3 also showed its staying power for the original Xbox, taking the top spot for that system's game requests. Vivendi's movie adaptation of Scarface ranked as the second most requested Xbox title for the week, followed by LucasArts' strategy sim, Thrillville. As has been the case in recent weeks, Bully ranked as the most requested PlayStation 2 title, followed by Sony's upcoming God of War II and Square Enix's role-playing epic, Final Fantasy XII. Looking to the GameCube, it was The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess that was again the most requested GameCube title for the week, while D3P's Naruto: Clash of Ninja 2 and Nintendo's Mario Party 7 rounded out the top three requests for the platform. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team was the most requested Game Boy Advance title for the week, forcing a pair of Square Enix titles, namely Final Fantasy V Advance and Final Fantasy VI Advance, to settle for second and third place respectively. Capcom's upcoming Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice for All for the Nintendo DS beat out all other titles for the handheld for the week, with Nintendo's Kirby: Squeak Squad and Yoshi's Island DS taking the two following spots on the chart. Finally, the week's PSP requests were topped by Konami's popular Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, followed by Sony's Killzone: Liberation and Take Two's Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories.
