GameDev.net has announced the acquisition of NeHe Productions, a web-based OpenGL resource. NeHe Productions, which offers beginning to advanced tutorials and forums for users of OpenGL and related code, will operate as an independent site under the management of GameDev.net. The acquisition comes after Jeff Molofee, owner and operator of NeHe, expressed interest in selling the site. Regarding the unique content offered on the NeHe site for the past few years, GameDev.net’s Executive Vice President Dave Astle assured the NeHe faithful that this “unique community” will “continue to operate as a separate site.” GameDev.net gains ownership of all content assets and copyrights associated with the NeHe site and brand under the terms of the acquisition.
