Gamecock To Publish Spark Unlimited FPS Legendary: The Box

Independent publisher Gamecock has announced an agreement with developer Spark Unlimited (Call of Duty: Finest Hour) to publish its upcoming original first-person shooter, Legendary: The Box, on PC and next-gen consoles in spring 2008.
Independent game publisher Gamecock has entered into a publishing agreement with Spark Unlimited (Call of Duty: Finest Hour) for the upcoming original first-person shooter, Legendary: The Box. Currently in development for the PC and unspecified console platforms, the game is scheduled to ship in spring 2008. According to Gamecock, Legendary: The Box centers on the story of Charles Deckard, an art thief who is tricked into stealing the legendary mythological artifact known as Pandora’s Box. When he opens the box, he releases hordes of presumably fictional creatures into the real world, and must then take up arms to fight back that which he has unleashed. While few details have been announced as of yet, Gamecock development head Harry Miller described the the shooter as “a classic, in terms of story, gameplay and technology.” The game is the latest to be added to Gamecock's already considerable portfolio, which includes an as yet unannounced next-gen title from Croteam, developer Firefly Studios' upcoming dungeon crawler Dungeon Hero, and the recently announced sci fi shooter Section 8 from Timegate Studios. The title marks the second original project to be recently announced by Spark Unlimited. In August 2006 the studio confirmed that it's working with Codemasters on another first-person shooter called Turning Point - Fall of Liberty for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. This game is expected to reach retail before Legendary: The Box, sometime during Q4 2007.
