Officials from "independent, artist-driven" publisher Gamecock have announced that the company will publish the recently announced downloadable title Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball
, the inaugural release from newly founded
development studio Blazing Lizard.
last week, Blazing Lizard calls the game the first in an expected series of Pirates vs. Ninjas
games, with pirates and ninjas only the first 2 of 5 teams to be revealed.
It remains unknown which download services will be used to distribute the competitive title, with officials only stating that Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball
will be released for multiple home console download platforms in the first quarter of 2008.
While details remain scarce concerning the upcoming title, the developer notes that the game is being developed using its proprietary next-gen engine Infyrno, and will include exhibition, story, and challenge modes for up to 8 players online, as well as 4-player co-op modes. According to Gamecock's Mike Wilson, Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball
“will set a new high bar for gameplay and graphical expectations in downloadable console games.”
