Game Trust, a publisher of online games geared to casual players, announced the Casual Game Evolution Challenge. The contest, co-sponsored by Shockwave, invites game developers to submit game concepts for online, tourmanent, and download play. The rules of the contest do not require entrants to submit completed games; those wanting to take part need only complete a game concept with storyboard and preliminary graphics, though completed games can also be submitted. Those who win the Game Evolution Challenge on the strength of a concept rather than an actual product must complete the game in exchange for the Grand Prize, which is a Game Trust licensing contract along with a new Vespa motor scooter. Five runners-up will also receive the Game Trust contract, which allows the winner a share of the game's revenue as well as a premiere on the front page of Shockwave.com. "It is difficult for both established and small developers to break into the lucrative world of high profile casual game development," said Adeo Ressi, Game Trust's CEO. "We have pulled together an amazing co-sponsor, Shockwave.com, to make this dream accessible for developers." Entries can be submitted at the official Game Trust website until March 18, 2005. The finalists will be announced on March 21st, and the grand prize winner will be announced on March 28th.
