The Savannah College of Art and Design is hosting a free seminar for game developers, educators and students, called the Game Developers eXchange, or GDX, to be held in Atlanta, Georgia on May 9th. The seminar, held in associate with Thomson Course Technology, will bring students together with professional designers and game design experts to learn about game development from the source. The speakers and their presentations are Peter Lee, whose keynote speech is titled "All Grown Up and Nowhere to Go: The Future of Video Games;" Nick Fortugno, with "Each Player's Story: Narratives in Live-Action and Digital Games;" Les Pardew, with "Creating Characters for Games;" John Flynt, with "The Groundwork of Simulation: Event Modeling;" Sebastian St-Laurent, with "Shaders for Programmers and Artists: RenderMonkey 101;" Mike Wikan, with "The Production Pipeline, or How to Make a Video Game in 10,942 Easy Steps" and later "Sprinting Into the Rat Race: Getting Into the Game Industry as a Designer." More information on the Game Developers eXchange, which will last from 9 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. on May 9th, 2005, is available at the seminar's official website.
