Game Cube Sales Lower Than Expected

Nintendo announced that it sold approximately 300,000 units of its new Game Cube console in the first weekend of its debut.
Nintendo had targeted initial shipments of 500,000 consoles for its Japanese release, but said delays in production forced it to come up 50,000 short. Analysts had expected the initial shipment to sell out, but came up 150,000 units short. Nintendo shares have dropped 25 percent since the launch of the Game Cube last week.
