Lyon Game, the organizers of the Game Connection networking event at Game Developers Conference 2006, have announced details and deadlines regarding this year's event, which will be held at the Fairmont Hotel, San Jose on March 20 and 21, 2006.
The event, which Gamasutra
reported on at GDC last year, involves registered developers who will meet up with game publishers in one-on-one meetings in private booths, arranged in advance thanks to an online meeting scheduler. The intention is that the developers can demonstrate products and prototypes to the publishers and business arrangements can be potentially negotiated.
Lyon Game has noted that Game Connection @ GDC in 2005 brought 42 publishers directly to independent developers, including 10 Tacle Studios Pte Ltd, Activision and Activision Value Publishing, Bitband, Buena Vista Games, Capcom, D3 Publisher of America, Inc., Electronic Arts, Funcom, HIP Europe, HIP Games, Lago Srl., Majesco, Majesco Europe Ltd, Microsoft, Nintendo, O3, SCEA, SCI, Sega, and Vivendi Universal Games, and it expects even more publishers to attend this year. A
recent European event located in France in December 2005 also brought in a significant amount of developers and publishers.
