The International Animated Film Society has announced that nominations for video game-based animation will be accepted in the category of Outstanding Achievement in a Short Subject at the 32nd Annual Annie Awards.
The Annie Awards, originally started by famed cartoon voice actor June Foray, are the oldest animation awards in the US, and reward the best animation across film, television, commercials and short subjects. This will be the first time that video games have been eligible for consideration.
Entries submitted for consideration must be from productions that originally aired, were exhibited in an animation festival or commercially released in the United States between 1st January 2004 and 31st December 2004.

Winners will be honored at a gala celebration on 30th January 2005, at the Alex Theatre in Glendale, California.
