Eric Dybsand, a leading figure in the field of game AI, died suddenly on April 15. Known as "Geta" on many forums, Dybsand was well known in the field, moderating AI roundtables every year at the Game Developers Conference, writing and editing books, writing articles on the subject for this site and others, and working on numerous games. Dybsand was working at 2015 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, when he reportedly began feeling dizzy. An ambulance was called, and he died en route to the hospital. It is believed that he suffered an an aneurysm. Memorial services were held in Tulsa last Tuesday and services are scheduled for April 27 in Denver. More information about this service can be found at the Colorado Game Developer's website. There is also an online memorial site for Dybsand. Source: Steve Woodcock
