The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS) has officially opened the 2006 D.I.C.E. (Design, Innovate, Communicate, Entertain) Summit at the Green Valley Ranch resort hotel in Las Vegas, held from February 8th – 10th, with the major speeches occurring on the 9th and 10th. Held annually, this executive-oriented entertainment industry conference brings together the top video game designers and developers from around the world and business leaders from all the major publishers to discuss the state of the industry, its trends and the future. Gamasutra has multiple journalists covering the summit, and will be providing coverage from the event from later today, including detailed information on Thursday's speeches from Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime, NCSoft's Richard Garriott and Robert Garriott, Valve's Gabe Newell and Sony's David Jaffe. In addition, Friday's key sessions from Microsoft's Peter Moore, visual designer Dale Herigstad, a joint Will Wright and Peter Molyneux lecture and Sony's Fumito Ueda and Kenji Kaido will also be covered by Gamasutra, with the final write-ups appearing early next week.
