Gamasutra is now seeking submissions for its regular 'Soapbox' column, in which professionals from the game industry discuss an issue of burning importance to them, in a short 750-1250 word editorial to be published as a main feature on the website. Some of the past Soapbox columns include Brian Hook on perceived issues surrounding video game rentals, Tadhg Kelly on the problems of 'technoholism', Greg Costikyan discussing whether mobile game innovation is being stifled, Jess Bates on the relationship between women and video game, and MUD pioneer Richard Bartle arguing that 'virtual worlds are designed by newbies'. Those interested in submitting concepts should contact us at [email protected], including their name, a short biography, and a short synopsis of the issue they would like to write the Soapbox on. We are interested in both relevant development-related Soapboxes, as well as those dealing with larger publishing, marketing, retail, and trend-based issues.
