David Reeves, formerly the longtime president and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, has joined Capcom as chief operating officer of the company's European arm.
Reeves, who spent 14 years with Sony, announced his departure from the company
last year.
His appointment comes after the unexpected passing of Capcom North America and Europe COO Mark Beaumont, who
died in February of a reported heart attack.
"I established a close working relationship with Capcom during my time at Sony and have always admired its commitment to push boundaries and develop innovative titles," says Reeves. "It is therefore a real pleasure to now join this organisation and be a part of its future successes."
In his new role as COO of Capcom Entertainment Europe, he'll be responsible for the
Resident Evil and
Street Fighter publisher's entire European operations, tasked with maximizing revenue opportunities and exploring growth avenues.
"We are very pleased to have secured the services of someone of David’s calibre," said CE Europe president Hiroshi Tobisawa. "He brings with him an unprecedented level of industry knowledge and expertise which will be invaluable as we look to grow our European operation."
