The final confirmed attractions at IGN Live, the consumer video gaming event hosted by News Corp.-owned gaming portal IGN.com, have been announced. The first annual show will take place this Saturday and Sunday at the Anaheim Convention Center near Los Angeles.
Those who attend will have the chance to play a number of in-development games from EA, 2K Sports, Midway, THQ, Ubisoft, Vivendi, and others; participate in FPS tournaments featuring Halo 2
, Battlefield 2
, and Counter-Strike: Source
; and view game trailers in a special theater. The event will also offer a seminar on breaking into the game industry, co-sponsored by the Game Developers Conference. [The GDC, like Gamasutra, is a property of the CMP Game Group.]
Attractions just announced include a poker game with World Series of Poker Champion Greg Raymer and actor Wil Wheaton, live wrestling events hosted by THQ, a special booth dedicated to the hit series The Family Guy., an arcade cabinet auction from SuperAuctions.com, an installment of the "I Am 8-Bit" art exhibit, and DJ and live sets from bleep-friendly bands such as 8-Bit Weapon.
In addition, the show is now confirmed to include playable versions of several Xbox 360 titles, including Activision's Tony Hawk's American Wasteland
and Call of Duty 2
, and EA's Need for Speed Most Wanted
. In addition, Epic's Mark Rein will on hand to demonstrate forthcoming Xbox 360 title Gears of War
