FerReel Animation Labs, a research and development company specializing in animated demolition effects, has announced the upcoming release of Blast Code 1.2. Slated for release on December 1st, 2004, Blast Code 1.2 is billed as the only Maya plug-in that assists in the creation of realistic destruction simulations.
The latest version of the animation engine includes additional texture UV manipulation attributes, improved motion blur computation and work flow for scenes, and an all-new filtered list for navigation of blast control groups and layers.
Blast Code 1.2 will also support additional sub-mesh outputs for component level geometry shading, and additional methods of compensating rotation for key framed blast surfaces.
The application will also be released in a light version called 'Kiloton', designed for freelance animators and small animation studios, and upgradeable to the full 'Megaton' version. Both the new Kiloton and Megaton versions of Blast Code include all of the 1.2 upgrades.
