Today's main Gamasutra feature article (free reg. req.) deals with Retro Redux, an Atari-sponsored 24-hour game design event that challenged college students from across New York to forge games using technology comparable to the original Atari 2600.
Our correspondent Matt Hawkins participated as advisor to Team SVA, and has provided a diary of his experiences at the Retro Redux event to Gamasutra.
Matt starts his account with some trepidation:
"Aside from the awkwardness that comes from having to be awake early on a Saturday morning, there's a nervous energy that's pervasive throughout, which is to be expected. After all, no one there has ever made an Atari 2600 game and very few really know what lies ahead."
