New game testing company, Testology, announced its formation today as a firm focused on offering quality assurance games consultancy and testing staff placements to the entire game industry. The UK-based company was founded by Andy Robson, formerly of Lionhead Studios. Based in Aldershot, England, Testology will offer a number of different services to potential clients, including on and off-site testing, gameplay consultancy, functionality testing and manual /in game text copy proofing and feedback. Andy Robson is known as one of the game industry’s most experienced games testing managers having started in the field in 1994 with Bullfrog Productions. In 1998, Andy joined Peter Molyneux to head up Lionhead’s Test department which he ran until he left the company to set up Testology last month. “There is a real need for a quality assurance game consultancy which can offer a top notch service at a fair price,” commented Robson. “My team and I have a vast experience of testing games that is unparalleled in the games industry. More importantly we all love games and can give objective suggestions for enhancing gameplay.” He added: “The games industry has really changed during the past twelve years and it makes sound economic sense for developers and publishers to outsource this service. Testology is hugely experienced, highly professional and fired up for providing a thorough and efficient service.”
