ESRB Readies New Idaho PSA Campaign

The Entertainment Software Rating Board is targeting the state of Idaho with a new public service announcement campaign featuring state attorney general Lawrence Wasden urging parents to consider game ratings in choosing appropriate purchases.
The Entertainment Software Rating Board is targeting the state of Idaho with a new public service announcement campaign featuring state attorney general Lawrence Wasden urging parents to consider game ratings in choosing appropriate purchases. The ESRB says the new campaign also has Wasden encouraging parents to "spend time playing the purchased games with their children in order to be sure the choice of game was appropriate." The PSAs are to air across the state of Idaho on both radio and television throughout this holiday season, and will be accompanied by a special brochure with more details on the ratings system for parents. Said ESRB president Patricia Vance, “Just like movies and TV shows, video games are created for a diverse audience of all ages. That is why it is so important that parents remember to check the rating when choosing games for their children. We are very proud to have the support of Attorney General Wasden in reaching out to Idaho’s parents and educating them about the ratings.” The new PSAs and accompanying brochure can be seen via the Idaho attorney general's website.
