Developer Epic Games and publisher Microsoft announced the
Gears of War Triple Pack, which includes
Gears of War, its sequel and additional content, due on February 15 in the U.S. for $30.
Aside from 2006's
Gears of War and 2008's
Gears of War 2, the bundle also will have the complete
Gears of War 2: All Fronts Collection, which includes the Road to Ruin bonus campaign and 19 additional multiplayer maps.
The five multiplayer maps from the original
Gears of War's Map Pack 1 and Hidden Fronts map pack will not be on disc in the bundle, but are available as free downloads on Xbox Live.
Microsoft and Epic expect the bundle to hold
Gears of War fans over until
Gears of War 3 launches in holiday 2011. The series has sold a total of over 12 million units worldwide, according to Microsoft and Epic.
Epic is also ramping up
Gears of War 3 hype by
offering early beta public access to the game in the "Epic Edition" of
BulletStorm, the upcoming first-person shooter developed by Epic subsidiary People Can Fly, and published by EA Partners.
