Valve has announced that Epic Games will be the latest developer bringing its back catalog to Steam, starting with the addition of a number of
Unreal titles including
Unreal Gold and its latest offering,
Unreal Tournament 3.
The games are now available on Steam, including an "Unreal Deal Pack," which combines all of the current releases into a $59.95 package and includes not only
Unreal Gold and
UT3, but
Unreal 2: The Awakening, Unreal Tournament: Game of the Year Edition and
Unreal Tournament 2004: Editor's Choice Edition.
The news comes as a number of major publishers have made the jump to Valve's platform, including the
recently reported Atari add, a
move to MMOs with the addition of EVE Online, and an exclusive digital release for GCS Game World's S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky.
Said Epic VP Jay Wilbur, "Steam is a revolutionary technology that opens up an entirely new way to put our games into the hands of millions of PC gamers around the world. Valve has changed the face of digital distribution for game developers, publishers and consumers, and we are thrilled to be a part of the Steam community."
