Game magazine publisher Enterbrain has corroborated
recent Media-Create numbers and reported that the PSP outsold the DS by a factor of 2 to 1 in April, at the same time showing a 5 to 1 lead of the Wii over the PS3.
According to the
Reuters report, Enterbrain calculated 380,867 units sold of the PSP in April, compared to 169,911 units of the DS, as
Monster Hunter Freedom 2G continues its software lead.
But Sony's success over competing Nintendo hardware is limited to handhelds, as Enterbrain also reports 187,121 units of the Wii sold in the month, compared to the PS3's 37,676.
Media-Create's figures show the same PSP lead for five consecutive weeks, most recently outselling the DS and Wii combined, despite having only four titles in the software top fifty, and only
Monster Hunter selling in any substantial numbers.
