Enter The Matrix Tops 1 Million In First-Week Sales, Boosts Atari

Atari announced Friday that more than 1 million copies of Shiny’s Enter the Matrix game had sold across all platforms one week after its release in the U.S. and Europe.

Atari previously said that it was expecting to sell 4 million units of the game for a projected $160 million in revenue, much needed for the financially troubled company, which changed its name to Atari from Infogrames earlier this month. Atari’s stock rose 17 percent (73 cents) on the news to close at $4.96.
