Representatives from Gamebryo developer Emergent have announced at Leipzig's Games Convention that the company has expanded into Eastern Europe and Russia with the opening of a Poland-based studio to "foster strategic partnerships" in the region.
Heading the new office and its developer relations is former CineGroupe Interactive sales and marketing VP Dave Solomon, where he was in charge of increasing European sales for the animation company. He has also formerly served as director of international and OEM sales at Canon Software, and director of publishing at Cosmi Corporation.
Emergent says that its development technologies are already in use in the region by studios such as Russia's Play Ten and Alterlab and Bulgaria's Black See Studios. It adds that the new office will provide "on-the-ground service to Eastern Europe and facilitate a collaborative environment with existing and new customers to advance new tool sets and technologies that will dramatically enhance worldwide game development."
